The end!

I was really glad that I had the opportunity to try out all these new things. Whoever had the original idea should certainly be up for a merit award, as I'm sure that everyone who persevered to the end has learnt some really worthwhile stuff that otherwise they wouldn't have discovered - myself included. Naturally, I prefered the things that I could see myself using in the future, for example Flickr and Picknik, and probably either of the Office applications. It was a relief that it was possible to use the same log-in details for several of the sites. I'm sure that a lot of people would say that remembering all the passwords is the downside of the modern age. It took me about ten attempts to find a user name on Twitter that hadn't already been used. When I have more time, I will definitely revisit some of the sites to take a closer look at what they can do.

Blogger gadgets and widgets

There was me thinking a widget was some kind of fancy device on top of a beer can. Well, now I know a new meaning. I tried to use the blogger gadget, and it didn't work initially. A colleague told me that I needed to change my privacy settings for it to work, and it did the trick. The widget worked quite well, and I can see that that the i-google home-page could be a one stop shop.

ThinkFree Office

Hmmm - interesting. It seems a slightly more advanced version of Google Docs. I guess I will also bear this in mind, should I need to create a document, and see which one serves me best.

I can certainly see myself using this at home, as I'm far too stingy to shell out for the Word package for my netbook.

Wikipedia

This is a site that I use regularly, whilst always bearing in mind that the information might not be entirely accurate. I've looked up all sorts of different subjects on it in the past, and find it always gives a good overview of the subject, if nothing else.
